Picked up this 2001 TD5 Manual over the holidays

That’s a standard, base model, 5 seater. Those wheels are 16” and were the standard fitment at the time. Around that time they also brought out a poverty pack special - the Discovery S. It had steel wheels, an unpainted panel around the grill and a few other things missing.

Just to make things more confusing, when they went to the 03MY facelift, they had the base model 5 seater (with the same wheels), then the S was a step up with 7 seats and SLS.

I forgot about the unpainted panel around the grill. With Bonati grey I did prefer mine unpainted. Cheers

Factory fit, but mine was an overstocked UK Td5 HSE, sent to Australia when the D3 was released.

Just checked, not heated seat switches anywhere but do have ( operational) lumbar supports

Nice mate. Yep Ian's are not normal from what I have seen. You would have to remove the electric window switch panel to see if the plugs for the heated seats are there. If they are you can trace the wires to the seats and if the wires disappear into the seat cushions there is a good chance you could get the switch cover and the switches and go for it. I have to say that the D2 heated seats are very sweet. The rear of the seat heats quite high up the spine. Cheers

There are spare wires under my seats which are live ignition on. They are really heavy gauge. My guess is that they are for seat heaters.
I run my Recaro back and forward motors from them.
As described earlier my car is probably an ES or low spec with coil springs.
