Td5 Low On Power At Low Revs

My td5 has a lack of power at below 2500 RPM

Once the convertor is locked, when traveling at say 90 to 100 kph I will be around 2300 to 2500 RPM.

If I slowly push the pedal down nothing happens until almost at the floor, at which time it kicks down a gear, putting it past 3000 Rpm, where it will then accelerate like normal.

Some history on the car. I have had it since 140,000 Km's. It now has 240,000 on it

It still has original fuel pump which I am waiting on a freight quote to get a new one(VDO) No signs of failure, just precautionary replacement due to age.

All the sensors are original including the Maf except for the overboost sensor, and I know when it failed I lost power trough the whole rev range.

Nanocom also told me of this. Current problem has no faults on Nanocom

Turbo hoses are near new silicone ones.

    Ideas please.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Could you go for a drive and post a log?

    What version is the engine?

    I think it is a 15P engine.

Don't know how to post a log, but would love help to achieve such.

Shack. Have had a hunt around and probably found out how to do it.

Test for blocked exhaust - TD5

Have a read of post 15 and see if there is anything you need to add.

I will have to buy a card reader for the computer.

Going to Sydney shortly so will look at it on Monday.

    Nanocom correct readings TD5.

How do your Nanocom readings compare to the correct ones? See here:

    Nanocom readings

My guess is your Maf and/or Map are out of spec if original.
    Cheers

That's a pretty accurate write up.

Got an SD card and a reader today. Went for a drive and it seemed to be ok power wise.

It is much cooler today(ambient temp). When I was noticing it down on power it was a very hot day.

Not that this should matter as I have driven it on days much hotter than this.

When I was complaining about a lack of power I was towing a 6x 4 trailer.

I didn't disclose this in my OP because I felt that such a small trailer should not make much difference.

So I put the SD card into nanocom and went for a drive.

I am having problems with my Microsoft 365 subscription and excel will not let me save the file (have computer tech coming tomorrow to fix)

so for now I can post a sample in the form of a screen shot.

I will be very interested for someone to decipher, what to me is a lot of mumbo jumbo numbers.

You don't need to open it in excel, just copy and paste the file here with whatever program you use to log on to AULRO.

Well that didn't work. Just got a blank page. I will screen shot what comes up before I open it.
