Although not the same stereo, the dash reinstalled without problem and as you can see the stereo blocks the top of the dash totally. The sleeve is amply strong enough I believe.

Hi all, just received a Sony XAV-AX8000 for my birthday, after watching a number of vid’s on centre dash and stereo removal, I have concerns as to the weight of the screen being only supported by the original stereo sleeve, and to fit it you attach it to the centre console sleeve while out which means you can’t replace the top two screws above the stereo once in. Thoughts?

I think these things depend on where you will take the vehicle. These days whenever I make a decision on a purchase or do fitment I think 'Would this survive hundreds of kilometres of corrugations?'. If not it doesn't go on. But if you don't intend taking the vehicle to such areas that question is moot. Horses for courses. Cheers
