The wheels on a D2 like to stay on, especially if they haven't been off lately. If that happens I find that loosening the nuts maybe 2 turns and driving ( slowly! ) for 100 metres while turning the wheel back and forth will get them to let go.. Just FYI.

Can absolutely attest to that!! Required some excessive force to get the front wheels off, large bars, large hammers, swearing, hufffing and puffing, swearing, more swearing and more bashing etc. Putting some of that stuff on to stop the hub sticking has helped post the initial removal.

That sounds such an elegant solution to a perennial problem!!!

Ohh if I remember rightly the torque setting for the nuts is only 140Nm which is quite low, worth checking out. Changed over my ryobi 18V cordless rattle gun to an older model with that torque rating

It's far from elegant in the doing, I can assure you!

    Wheel Hub Care

Only ever had one wheel "Stuck"on, so much for 5 years of Stealer Service, since 2007 I have made sure there is a film of Never Seize on the wheel hub where it contacts. Its a service item. Wheel removal/replacement solved with a 27mm 6 sided socket and and long breaker bar. (Just don't overdo the strong arm tactics) 103 ft lbs is the recommended Tension. I also give the studs a small dose of Never Seize. Regards Harry

The RRC wheel brace has a folding handle. When loosening, the handle unfolded to double it's length to double the torque. It wouldn't stay that length when tightening, it would fold.

That made it hard to over-tighten the nuts.

Love simplistic solutions to problems, probably though, few know not to tighten with the full length even if it was written in the manual.
