    Vacuum lines.

I've got to rectify the incompetence of the mechanic who did the oil change on Tuesday. I had to fix the fuel return line yesterday. Now trying to refit the vacuum lines to their rightful positions.
Note the floating line and the line that is connected between the waste gate modulator and air intake duct have all the clamps pulled back.
Where are these hoses supposed to be?

Well the one going from the inlet to the wastegate should connect the wastegate to the boost modulator and the one going nowhere should connect to the inlet manifold and boost modulator. There is a third one which goes from the boost modulator to the inlet manifold after the turbo..

I can guarantee that whoever did that is no mechanic.
It doesn't even need to be touched for an oil change.

    1: goes to intake tube
2: goes to wastegate actuator on the turbo
The bottom hose also marked 2 ?: To Intercooler pipe

I found a bloke who is familiar with Td5s, but claims not to be an expert, he put the two existing hoses back where they're supposed to be but couldn't locate the nipple on the inlet manifold.
He echoed Discorevy's comments and added his disgust that the other fellow didn't even bother to clean up the mess he made, changing the only filter he could find.
This fellow refused any payment for the 20~30 minutes he spent on my car. His decency and friendly attitude has gained him four more cars to service.

The nipple is on the intake hose behind the MAF sensor, I think I can just see it on your first pic.
He won't find it on the inlet manifold.

    Glad you've found someone decent.
