New rear hub.
I replaced the passenger side rear hub today. The stake nut was not staked. The torque required to undo the non-staked stake nut was low maybe 120Nm. It was leaking diff oil and the disc, brake parts were gummed up with oil and dirt. The old bearing, a Timken one it felt quite smooth. It did have 4-5mm in and out movement. I think it should be zero just like the new one.
The ABS cord on the new one is shorter than the old one, which is a bummer what with the lift. I'm not sure that reusing the old one is a good idea with the wear on the bearing. Has any one found short extensions? 15cm?
