There are cases when corrosion is visible and others when not cos the fault can be between those two pcbs where you have no access, when it's visible it's simple but you can't visually rule out that fusebox just cos you cant eyeball a problem, the only 100% way to rule it out is by replaceing it with a known good one, it's plug and play... if that doesnt help the next suspect is the BCU which needs complex programmimg with nanocom or similar.. there is a huge variety of symptoms which can be together with that crossed B, no clerar pattern
PS the missing relay is for V8's ignotion coils
When I got my D2, the fuse box was damaged, around the 6, 7 area, nothing apparent except one of the sunroofs wouldnt open, interior lights not working a few other little things. It does not seem this is your issue per se.
Just be careful with the two brown connectors when putting it back in, it is tight and fiddly and the smaller brown connector fits in the larger connector space, my first rookie mistake - the TD5 is same fusebox the V8, you have to make sure the same fuse positions are used as they use different fuses and relays usage dependent on the engine.
The fuse boxes though are not interchangeable between the D2 and D2a, the easiest way of course then is to find a fuse box with the same engine and series and use that as a check.
The standard radios and the Harmon Karmon head units are Alpine, no problem there.
The red light is normal as to the alarm system being operational
Have you checked the wiring loom between the ECU (behind the battery) to the rocker cover for oil ingress, simply job to do, just remove the loom at the ECU and check if you see any signs of engine oil...
I inserted fusebox back to its place and did some tests just for checking some details to add at this thread
After inserting back the fusebox to its place and start the vehicle i noticed that only the odometer milleage blinks, and no sign of crossed B on dashboard, which appears the letter " P " , and just after moving the gearbox lever to the " N " position it appeared the letter " N " and 2 seconds later just started to show the blinking crossed B on dashboard, in any gear selected.
Obs: all eletrical functions inside the car works normaly.

IMO the BCU is at fault
