    TD5 Flashing B on dashboard

    Hi, everyone

I need some help with my disco, i got an TD5 2002 AT, i took it on a negociation, so i dont know if the previous owner was a good proprietary.
Well, i will explain what happens. The engine starts fine, but after starting the engine the odometer value blinks on dashboard for some minutes and them it becomes normal, when the odometer stop blinking the transmission selected on dashboard stop showing the correct gear and then appears an crossed B blinking, when driving the car seems like it lacks of power, and after turning on the air conditioning it became worse, so weak that it cannot even move from inertia, only if we turn off the air conditioning. All the functions on interior works normaly, as windows, eletric rear view mirror, etc.

Obs: the radio isnt original, its an alpine, i dont know if it that interferes in something.
Obs2: I checked the battery voltage with an multimeter, and it shows 12.5v, and after starting the engine it goes to 14.3v
Obs3: there is an red light flashing when the doors are closed

The XYZ switch isn't a common failure but it's common enough to warrant looking at.

    They are NOT cheap!

I've never tried opening one up to see if it could be cleaned.

More likely to be the Fuse box behind the knee panel if it has had water from a leak, or BCU.

The lack of power could be because the Auto is in Limp mode (3rd gear if stationary )

+1 for that, crossed B has nothing to do with the XYZ switch ^^^ ... the flashing red led is normal if the vehicle's alarm is on factory setting
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

Yes, it seems like a limp mode, i was checking some content about that BCU issue, but differently, mine still has the electrical functions inside the car working. But i will take a look on fuse box to see if it is ok

But even if isnt appearing any M and S light on dashboard, it could be in a error state ?

Sry for my lack of knowledge
