Pre-facelift with 15(+)P engine MSB ECUs

Hi all, i dont want to mix up the original thread but i'd like to figure out the oddity about the pre-facelifts considered as Eu3 with 15+P engines but factory fitted with MSB101330/340 ECU with 3 wire AAP sensor. I'd like to continue the discussion from here td5 bad throttle response

    and clarify this
    NNW004060
the VIN matches when Interrogated, good enough for me to be sure.
so @discorevy please confirm, the VIN on the sticker matches with the vehicle's VIN too which was factory fitted with it?

I dont understand what kind of Eu3 fuel map can be in those MSB ECUs while there are green top injectors, the throttle works only on 3 track setting but the AAP sensor has 3 wires from factory ???

The vehicle has long gone, it was an MY2002 pre facelift, the same as all the others I've seen fitted with EU3 and NNN ECU's.

I know of precisely 0 MSB ECU's with EU3 factory mapping

I've given a couple of suggestions in the other thread.

That's what i'm trying to figure out cos i'm 100% convinced that what i saw was factory fitted with MSB101330/40 and they had 3 wire AAP from factory, i had to rewire the 4'th from airbox to the ECU plug cos that wire was not there at all. IMO it was a batch of vehicles in that 2001/2 transition year which had the 15P engines and a strange Eu2/3 map in those MSBs cos it worked only with 3 track throttle setting which if it was a "clean" Eu2 it should have worked with 2 track, maybe at that time LR knew it's not 100% OK and exported most of them in less developped eastern european(or ROW) countries cos that's what happens with more developped countrie's "spoilages"(not the case for Australia)... that "several" means at least 4 which i remember clearely, one of them was less than 3 months ago as i helped a friend to rewire the AAP and set the remapped NNN ECU he bought for better performance, the MSB matched with the vehicle's VIN which was ... 1Asomething . I confirmed myself the oddity cos i fitted the MSB101330 to my ...YA.... Eu2 vehicle for test and after i made it learn the security code i checked and it had 3 track throttle setting, when i set it to 2 track it just idled so went back to 3 track to be able to accelerate and it ran with a lot of black smoke. So IMO it's something strange between Eu 2 and 3, i wouldnt have insisted on this just for fun believe me, i'm really interested to find a logical explanation for future reference.

seems that this breaker removed it from a 15P as well

I don't have any MSB units here with those numbers but from what I can gather, the MSB000080 and MSB101360 also have the same 3 way throttle coding along with your MSB101330 as the NNN units.
But as far as I know ( I'm no expert on it ) that is where the similarity with NNN unit mapping ends, so I don't know why yours was smoky when fitted, but theoretically, I'd think a NNN ECU with an EU3 factory tune, fitted to an EU2 engine would smoke a bit more ( Injectors outputting more fuel ) so I can see why you think that.

That's a very important part of this dillema as according to LR the 3 way throttle was fitted only to Eu3 engines so can we still consider that those MSBs are Eu2 then? I'm affraid that they made some experimental "hybrids" in the transition betwen Eu2 and 3 and got rid of them in poorest countries
