    S&M Lights and 3 Amigos ?

    An interesting thing happened this afternoon;
    Went to drive home and saw both the S and M lights on the dash flashing.
    Car was slightly doughy driving on level ground but still drove.
    So I kept going.
    After stopping at a red light which was on a hill, the car (2004 TD5 Auto)
    would Not move with normal throttle.
    It did though after lots of throttle, so I continued to drive home carefully.

    A quick Google search suggested one cause could be a Battery low on charge.
    While it was on charge I got out my Nanocom to see what faults came up.
    In the back of my mind also wondered if the Left Rear ABS cable fault had come up again, It hadn't.

    At this stage I noticed that the Fuel gauge was on Empty, with the Red warning light on.
    This was strange as I knew I had Half a tank of Deisel.

    It was then I noticed that the 3 Amigos lights which I've had for a good 6 months were no longer lite Up.
    I discconnected the battery charger and took the car for a drive to make sure those Amigos were definitely gone.
    They were.

    So before I had one fault - the Amigos,
    Then got another , the M and S lights with Sluggish driving.
    A temporary weird Fuel gauge read,
    And Now Everthing working As it should, The car drives as it should and no lights or Faults.

    Can anyone suggest why ???

    Interested to hear.
    Nick

    The computer does not appreciate low voltage, I reckon that was your issue.

    So what's the voltage on the battery at idle with loads switched on though? cos if it was low there might be a charging issue, the fact that you used a charger on it but didnt check the vehicle's charging system doesnt help much

    I've put the Nanocom on again and viewed the instrument section while the car was running,
    I realise now that when doing this all instruments on the dash are disabled;
    so what I saw initially when the fuel gauge went to empty is normal.

    Yes. When I first observed this I thought I had broken it.

    Then there's a problem of some kind.
    Never seen this, and I run with the nanocom in instruments mode pretty much all the time(except when running the 2min drive to the shops or something).

    Yep, same here. All dash functions continue to work as normal.
