Hmm.. The relay for the blower motor is only protected by a 30A fuse. 30A is the highest value fuse in the passenger compartment box.

Am I missing something? I'm doing the squirrel cage today or tomorrow. I'll put a meter across it. I'm curious, I would have thought 15-20 tops.

When I was mucking around with mine, I measured over 30 amps with the power supply. Granted it was very short time. But you are right in that the fuse is 30a only.
My point was more about if the OP found that polarity was reversed, hard to do with the standard plugs, as they only connect one way .. I assume that it must be 'rewired' by someone.

Hard(and/or expensive) blower to find they are, and I thought the Hiace blower was the same fit, but it wasn't. IIRC it was too deep.
But then I found that (approx) 2004-ish Camry uses the same motor/body, but higher squirrel cage, and I just had to remove that and fit the D2s squirrel cage for it to fit ... [thumbsupbig]

But with all this, I found that someone had changed the fan at some point and snipped wires and used blue type spade connectors to reconnect it. They were fairly blackened with running too much current through them.

The Camry blower motor uses the same connector type(the parallel twin spade type) as the D2's wiring harness has, so the intermediate cable isn't needed any more.

That is good to know. Lots of Camry wrecks at pick a part. Not many Discos..

Just don't forget your expensive needle nose WIHA pliers when removing fan from the Camry ... IIRC $20(ish) for fan ... $40ish down the drain for loss of pliers.
