The new Contitech air bags should have the Type 203 Voss connector which is push to fit.

If you do remove it probably voids the warranty if it leaks.
Very strange... as long as that "olive" is supposed to get progressively tight on the pipe while the fitting is screwed in i dont see how it can be push-fit cos then the pipe would come out as there's nothing tight on it [bighmmm]
The Voss 203 fitting has a grip ring that bites into the plastic when you pull it back and this then holds it in place. The sealing is done by o-rings.
It is probably a one use only type fitting once the pipe has been pushed in pass the “olive” if you then disassemble and remove the grip ring from the pipe.
Bohica would need to confirm if it came with the Voss type 203 fitting pictured above.

In this case i stand corrected... what i know is that i replaced the pipes on mine long time ago to addapt T pieces for external compressor while the original factory fitted bags were on it, i didnt want to reuse the old connectors at the valves(which were the same with those on the bags) so i bought the ANR6460 voss connectors which didnt have that white bit at that time and the pipe was free to move untill i screwed in and tightened the fitting against the olive... the new bags were Dunlop with a different kind of push-fit connector(better type IMO as it has a release ring outside)
I think I have the new Voss connector. It had a white part to remove, and a blob of 'witness' paint.
The instructions that came with the air bag had ".. installed in accordance with the OEM instructions... "
I'm glad I bought 2. One, I removed the connector. It leaks, the other one I have just pushed it in. I'll install that on the weekend.
As for the leaky one(s) I'll have to work out how to remedy that. I have a plan.

Hmm, I wonder if I can reassemble the connector and have another go.
At least now I know what was going wrong, I was getting very frustrated. I think these connectors have been this way for a while. The old bags have remnants of paint marks on them. The next trick would be to buy a pair of cheapies and see how long they last.
If the spring stays up I will be happy.
If you can get the grip ring off without damaging it, then yes you could try to reassemble with the white shipping pin, then refit the connector to the air bag, and then try again. Just make sure the grip ring is orientated the correct way as per the picture above.
Hopefully you have enough pipe free in case you have to trim it back to a clean/smooth section.
If it is leaking pass the o-rings it suggests the pipe may be scored or out of round.
Or the o-ring is damaged. I find it handy to lubricate the pipe and o-rings with silicone any time I disturb a connector. Makes it slide and turn smoothy on the pipe.Quote:
