    How hot?

My temperature gauge has stopped working and the red light is illuminated. The temp on the Nanocom is showing normal readings.
I'm assuming the wire has fallen off the sender, or the sender has gone to god.
Where is the sender, on a Td5, so I can eliminate the simple things first?

If nanocom is showing normal reading the sender is OK as it's the same signal received by the ECU and sent by it to the IP so the problem is between the ECU and IP or in the ECU/ IP/gauge but just to make sure compare that ECT reading with the fuel temp reading ... the sender is in the coolant elbow which goes to the top hose on the head

A failed sender can cause that issue, do as Sierrafery suggests and check the temp it's sending.

Yes, IP=instrument pack, go with nanocom in engine outputs section second page and do a Temperature gauge test see what happens cos if the sender fails the ECU is working based on the FT sensor(in the FPR) and might show that reading so compare these readings...i edited my first post read again
