If you do not have a sunroof at all you just remove the trim around the LH front door and pull the headlining down a bit. You can then reach in and remove the receiver without losing too much skin.
There used to be a broad range signal detector that you can check your transmitter with on ebay.

I am going to try that method even though it has a front sunroof.
I want to get a tester like that but for home entertainment remotes. Trouble is, apart from Apple stuff they’re all IR, not RF.
Neither key is detected. I have a third one somewhere.
