For tuning ease just get a NNN ecu and an EU2 performance tune, plus EU2 works without MAF sensor so can be turned off in tune along with egr removal, I wouldn't be chasing injectors or airbox lids unless they're broke (advantage of 4 pin lid is EU3 sensor is much cheaper replacement cost)

The V8 converters are not hard to get locally, needs to be the smaller V8 unit, Ashcroft website has all the info (and pics, I love pics) I bought mine privately and didn't even drain the fluid out, just fitted it, I do my own work so no biggie if something is crap, I'm not paying labour to redo the job. The inconvenience of doing a job over I call 'practise' and practise makes perfect (still working on the perfect bit).

Ashcroft supply a complete v8 torque converter conversion kit, no need for anything other than torque converter.

Landy parts are expensive at most wreckers except self serve, here in SA I make use of U-Pull-It self service and parts are cheap, unfortunately they have been having a drought on D2s for a couple years but I was lucky when I first got this POS and scored multiple ecu and tcu modules, fuel blocks and a few sets of spare injectors, nothing of which I will part with while I have this to maintain, not to mention I can make changes to the spares then revert back if it was a failure.

Great info on AULRO but it's a forum so must be filtered with common sense and a pinch of salt like every other place where people have something to say.

I am the exception, being a legend in my own tiny little delusional mind, my opinions are gospel.

I'm curious, what's the benefit of that? ... did you find in your research how the FT affects the IQ when it exceeds 70*C? ... a friend of mine did that mistake too based on some forum posts and beside the power issues in very hot days with below half tank of fuel he had to replace a pump a year untill he retrofitted other cooler.
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

Because the fuel cooler circuit is designed to work with the original design radiator that has the separate lower internal section that is dedicated to the fuel cooler operation.

So yes you are correct it's job was to keep the temp of the fuel returning to the tank below 70 celsius.

But when you buy all these aftermarket radiators they don't have that separate section anymore just the spigots so people can hook up the existing plumbing without getting confused, so fuel 'cooler' is running at engine radiator temp ie 85 to 90 celsius or whatever your thermostat is.

There is a LR technical bulletin floating around that details the changes to make when updating the radiator which effectively means it is doing jack but left in circuit to not confuse things.

So mine is gone and less points of leakage.

Its been gone a few years so no idea of your friends issues as I tow on 40 celsius days, my car sits between 82 to 84.5 with aircon on and fuel temp gets to within 5 celsius (below) engine temp on those days but is usually 10 celsius or bit more below engine temp on mild days.

I can only assume the fuel derating on subsequent factory tunes has been altered coz I have never looked for that setting to know either way.

You're the bloody professor so what are you asking me for?

Gonna need to hunt around and see if I can get a Torque converter if they haven't all been poached by the local guys

Thanks again for the replies :3
