    Car not starting.

I turn the key and nothing, the little cabin temp sensor fan stops. Dash lights are on. Cranking battery is at 12.36V. The 12.56V was between an earth terminal near the battery and the positive terminal. When I turn the key, I can hear a relay click.
The starter motor was rebuilt about 3 years ago, The contacts replaced. The car was running fine, we went up the HC over the long weekend.
    Any Ideas?

Tap the starter with a metal hammer.

Make sure that the energiser wire is connected. Try swapping the starter relay, which I think is #6. Under bonnet fuse box. After that it gets to be more fun.

Where is the relay that you hear tick? Is it the starter solenoid?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Whichever one it is, I guess it eliminates the XYZ.

The click I hear is from the fuse box. The relay is close to the front of the car, A bit hard to determine which one by feeling the top of the relay when turning the key. It is not the starter solenoid, that has a loud clunk noise. Manual gearbox so not XYZ. Too wet to look today, hopefully during the week.
I'll check all the wires including the energiser wire.

Fusebox and relay info here. Pretty sure it's #2. Don't swap it with #1, cos that's the fuel pump and it still won't start . There's a starter fuse in the driver's fusebox as well, but if that had blown then the relay wouldn't click.
