I'm not familiar with Disco's specifically, but I remember a few of the cars I owned in the past (falcons, valliants etc) the drain holes on the inside underside of the doors could block up with general road grime/little leaves, and the doors would fill up with water after a heavy rain. There is probably 2 holes or slots there. I used to juggle a short bit of coat hanger wire in them till they unblocked. Water sounds was how I noticed it.
do it soon otherwise your doors will rust up very quickly.
Once they are empty, you could use compressed air to give them a good clean.

Let us know it this was the cause.

    Cheers,
    Fraser

Drain holes in the doors have plugs and leave them out....
Rain gets past the window seal and fills the door up...

Get under the door and i think from memory the door had 3 or 4 plugs the size of 10c coins... pull them out... and leave them out..

Sill does not exist as such, so there will be no problem there....

    Stop the car.
    check coolant levels.
    do it NOW!
water sounds from the dash of a D2 is a sign of low coolant.

    IF this is the case---

cooling system is AOK nice and full and with the doors there are no plugs to pull out and all the holes are nice and clear so there is no water in the doors.

The sound seems to be coming from under the car (and no i haven't been in any rivers of late) like it's draining from one spot when taking off then as you're braking filling up again ??

this has got me stuffed !!

yea,, while there's no expansion chamber as such, the coolant top-up resevior does only move slowly,,

    I'd go to COMMON THreads,
    D2 Coolant
and use the flushing guide as a water top up guide.

Even though the reservoir is full there is an air lock in the heater matrix and lines. keep topping it up and squeezing the lines. It took me ages to get rid of the air lock.

Another symptom was the heater going from hot to cold all the time, generally it was hot when moving and cold when stopped. It didnt happen all the time though.
