    D2 rear door locked

The electronic mechanism has ceased to function properly

the same happend with the front door, but at least I could open it with the door handle

    So I can't open/unlock the door electronically/mechanically

any ideas on how to open?

I thought of taking the door off the hinges to gain some access

    thanks

Have you trie climbing over the back seats and using the internal handle. My D2 fails to unlock the rear door at times, but pulling on the internal handle then unlocks it. I give a good spray of WD40 every now and then, which seems to help.

I've been worried about this happening to me and was wondering about the possibility of installing a D1 rear doorlock as it has an external keyslot. Has anyone any insight on whether this would be possible. I thought the D1 and D2 rear doors were the same?

    D2 rear door mechanism

Not sure if this is the same problem but my D2 rear door gets stuck sometimes when i have been out in the scrub for a couple of days and the door is covered in dust. Doesn't matter how many times I lock and unlock the door electronically it wont budge but If I push the lever back manually it opens. Have never had a problem with any other door or anything else electronically on her so like I said not sure if this is the same problem but hope it helps and if not good luck & hope you find a solution soon! cheers GB

From the inside, slip a knife between the door and the seal and tickle the child-proof lock lever (you may have to look at another D2 to see exactly where the lever is located). The child-proof lock lever has an over-centre spring that keeps it up or down, but this spring applies sideways pressure to the lever and when the lock is full of dust, the whole mechanism jams. Later models used a redesigned lock, but early ones can be fixed permanently by removing that spring, which can only be done with the lock removed from the vehicle.

I can see where a cargo screen and permanent shelving system would be a major hassle here. The spring removal sounds like the fix. Other than that some regular preventative maintenance.
Anyway Wildone, why you bothering blabbing away here, aint you on your honeymoon!!!! You should have better things to do right now.

It is a problem with a cargo barrier, but I was able to wire a large flat headed bolt to a piece of aluminium tubing which is long enough to poke through the cargo barrier to grab the inside door release.
This is a permanent accessory on the rear floor.
I'm now very carefull of placement of bags etc when packing rear of car, I dont have cargo draws though.
Will have to look at removal of child lock spring

    All passender doors NOT unlocking

    Hi
    Have a Perentie and just purchased a D2a TD5
And it looks like I have the dreaded central locking issue.

I can unlock the drivers door and the rear barn door but NOT any of the passenger doors.
Either by FOB or interior locking switch

If I manually open passenger doors by handle they unlock (not practical)
    All doors lock okay

I have read so many posts that span several years

Is there something I can do as its strange the drivers and rear barn door works but NON of the passenger doors unlock

    Thanks

Re the tailgate lock, if you ask Trog nicely he has a permanent fix.
