A mate of ours was thinking of somehow using an electric window motor to turn it and have a switch hooked up on the dash.
Similar to the AMV unit, except AMV used a winscreen wiper motor IIRC. The idea is good, but electronics under there in practise get a hard time fro the mud etc and don't last as long as a mechanical device.
The other one that I really liked for the sake of gimmik was this pneumatic one. I'd love to do this for the fun of it and add another switch to the air locker collection!

OK, Ritters in Burwood Vic have a kit.
Don't know anything about their kit, but it's worth an inquirey.

Discovery Series II Centre Difflock
It's a long story, really... Everyone's recognised the need for a driver-controlled centre difflock for the more adventurous 4WDers. Everyone had their ideas on how it should be done. There have been at least 4 types available from various specialists for some time now. We sat on the fence and tried all the others but none offered the functionality and simplicity we were looking for.
So here is a simple, all mechanical diff-lock control using the time-proven 2-lever system. Everything included - the rubber boot, vinyl gaiter, knob and all the mechanical bits. The lever is mounted to the floor and connects to the transmission via flexible Teleflex cable (just like the HI/LO shift) to reduce transfer of mechanical noise into the cabin.
Fitted price - $790. Kit Price - $495.
Graeme Cooper in Sydney have one as well as does Davis preformance Landy's, but their kits are only activated when selecting low range, which means you loose the ability to select low range without locking the centre diff.
T.R.Spares in Sth Aus have a kit, give them a buzz too.

Yes mine lasted just over 12mths, it seized, when i pulled it out to have a look it was rusted pretty bad, they're not as tough as they reckon they are.
It was activated via a button where the coin tray is.
