There are several suppliers of things to do just that, e.g Series II Diff Lock
Hi All,
Has anyone any info on fitting a device to turn the diff lock nut on transfer case. I have a 2000 model TD5 & don't enjoy crawling under vehicle to engage /disengage when offroad. A switch on dash would be ideal
Cheers..Bruiser

DON'T buy the AMV electric Centre difflock, ask them if they have a second hand CDL from a later D2a 03/04 model.

You may find the factory linkage at the wreckers or other local Land Rover parts suppliers but good luck, I tried a number of places across Aust. last week - could not find any at a price I was willing to pay.
I have just placed an order for a factory DIIa CDL linkage here CDL Kit, cheapest supplier I could find.
Note that Ashcroft in the UK (recommended by others) have advised they no longer can supply the factory linkage.

Redback, why do you say that ? are they unreliable or what ?
Has any one fitted the solenoid kit and how well did it work ?

if you have a plumbed in air compressor i.e. for your lockers you could make it air operated using a pneumatic ram....i reckon i may go this way to engage my pto drive for the winch
not my idea but can point you in the right direction
I too am looking at the challenge of actually making the external link with a hidden lever given it just looks all too easy for the transfer case side. Ideally the electric boot release with cable extension as in the magna boots but I suspect you need either the on or off state firm in both settings to actually be useful and junkbox cheap at the same time. When all my thoughts fail, will mostly go back and buy one. But the thought of an electic HD type actuator is just so appealing.

I made my own.Its a simple handle you twist.I used uni joints from a socket set(2 needed) and extensions.Fabed a bracket with a 10mm slot and welded to the extensions.Ensure you replace the roll pins in cheap unis as they wear quickly with vibration.I replased with a nail and spot welded it to secure.
an 8mm nylock nut is needed on the TC spigot to secure the mechanism.
You should be able to make one for $100 in you sorce the socket set stuff from a pawnbroker.
