    D2 New(ish) Toy

Well after owning a 96 D1 V8 for 9yrs, took the plunge & upgraded to a 99 S2 TD5 7 seats & ACE with only 100600k's. As the pics show, had some fun last week end.
The car came with the ARB bar, snorkel, dual battery, LRA 150l tank & CDL actuator (manual twist type). I kept the lights, All terrains (as they were only 1m old) & CB from the old one. Now just need the suspension raised & side steps!! After driving around for a few weeks, I love the ACE, I cant believe how well it handles the corners. I know there have been a few people say that its not that good, but its fantastic. Had it on some muddy slopes & didn't need the CDL (although it was good for peace of mind)
Still getting used to the noise (love the V8 sound)

    Hi Guys,
The D2 is auto, cant be bothered changing gears plus the handbrake prefers to drive auto otherwise she would never get in the car!!
The D1 is for sale on car sales. just waiting to get some oil leaks fixed so I can get a roady.

Looked at the ad on Carsales. Excellent, looks good.

To any prospective buyer, I watched this car from behind for most of the day out at Toolangi recently and can certainly vouch for its ability to perform faultlessly.

DI5CO, just glad you didnt advertise it as "never been offroad" like many of the 4WD's advertised, that would have really been sus given the pic (below). Good luck. Great D2 by the way.

    Thanks Simon!
I gave it a really good detail, inside doesn't look like its ever been off road.
BTW, how are the new bags in the rear going after the self install? Is there any difference in ride quality?
The reason I ask is that mines 9 yrs old & I'm sure they will be the next thing to go I do love the smooth ride for a change & I would prefer to keep the air suspension.

My D2 new airbags and compressor all working perfectly (until I said that, damn) .................................................. .......................

ok, just checked outside, all still ok ..

I'd strongly suggest keeping the air suspension.

These are seriously easy to change and in an emergency, just 1 x 10mm spanner would be all you need. I'd be happy to help with an install of new airbags/compressor if needed but if yours takes roughly 20 - 25 secs to pump up fully, and stays up you have no worries for now.

I reckon the ride is better on my D2 with all the new bits, but I cant explain why it would be.
