Groan upon full lock

Thanks Scott,

It was a 45 minute job, (No ACE on this Vehicle:)) It WAS very loose, and it fixed it immediately!

Instructions etc were spot on, and it was a good result.
(Welding and cuttting into LR chassis is my favourite pastime!)

So thankyou again for the info, and got the other stuff this morning too;)

This guy is a good customer, and I kept him waiting for 30 minutes while I dealt with a myriad of phone calls and customers rolling in. I charged him for 45minutes, we are at $92/hr, so $69.

Usually there is a $30 consumables charge for any welding/ cutting, drilling, grinding, painting etc, but in this instance I didn't add it.

He's happy, and I'm happy its fixed!!

Hi all,

My steering is really bad at the moment so I am planning to flush, refill and bleed today.

Problem is I can't find any specs. on the volume of fluid I need to have on hand and I have a problem choosing the correct fluid.

RAVE etc. says Dexron II D.

The auto shops have Dexron III and claim it will do.

So, could someone let me know if this is the case and how much fluid it takes to complete the job?

Does this tend to come when the driver turns to the right? I have a real strange noise only when turning the steering wheel to the right.

would that be why I can get an extra 1/4 turn at full lock at low speeds (idle in 1st)?
