Thread: D2 score card.

Good idea. My 95 has no rust and has been on the beach. My 02 D2 has been on the beach many times and no rust - save for the crap standard steering guard (very replaceable). I always wash well after the beach. I have no rust in the body on the D1 (and not the D2 either) including around the alpines.

given the number of oil leaks that D2 td5's are prone to, in the case of mine at least, I'd be surprised to find rust anywhere on the underside of one.

just as an aside, AFAIK there are no posts of rust yet in the D2's,, yet some are 10 years old now,,

My 2000 Td5 has rust in passenger side rear door i.e. under the neoprene? sealing strip below window. I noticed some lumps appearing and fearing the worst lifted strip to find corrosion. I suspect my use of Karcher is the culprit as high pressure water would have been forced under strip.
Has anyone replaced these sealing strips, and if so how to do so.

Vehicle has been used extensively on beach since new ( I live in Cleveland which is only a short car ferry trip to North Stradbroke Island). I had vehicle rustproofed from new & always wash thoroughly after beach work. No other sign of rust which is pretty good for an 8 yr old 4WD.
