ecu upgrade td5 99 mod

Every one has an opinion on who does good work etc etc but the experience I had with TRS was that I air freighted the ECU from my 2000 Td5 on the weekend from Arnhem Land to Adelaide, they added the chip and upgraded on the Monday and bubble wrapped it and Express Posted it so I had it on the Wednesday and I reinstalled it Sat, relearnt the security and away I went - all for a fixed price.

Melbourne and Perth to Adelaide would be a similar deal.

Tombie has recommended a TRS ECU for those who have a non flashable type.

If you live in the northern suburbs, Les Richmond Automotive is in Thomastown and he will install a TRS ECU. Just ring up and they will express overnight and make a late afternoon booking. It only takes about half an hour and you're done.

Do you have any idea of cost?

TRS is as per website - or were in July last year.

so its really worth it huh? Is the '02 TD5 flashable, and is that a better option than a change over ECU if you can do it?
I'm not unhappy with our Disco's performance, but my gf thinks its a tank! A bit of extra grunt/driveability would cheer her up I reckon...

Gday All,I got my 2001 re-chipped using a TRS exchange ECU, booked it in to the local L/Rover dealer and got it back 1hr later..amazing for Darwin.. Im sure Rovertech in Perth do the TRS re-chip or they may be called rovertech jorden.My Wife loves the disco now with the upgrade, best $500 ive spent on the car,

02 should be flashable.

Curious - what is a "TRS ECU" ? oppose to the standard flashable one.

TRS= Triumph Rover Spares, add a chip to the standard NON flashable ECU, thus becoming a "TRS ECU".

A flashable ECU allows the workshop (ie) Tombie2 to re-map the ECU (NO ADDED CHIP)
