    Oil in Harness

Well i bought the wiring harness for the engine top $100 and took the rocker cover of the Td5 and replaced the wiring injector harness. There was oil in plug at other end near the ecu. the one thing i was unable of doing was draining the harness as stated. the plug beneath the rocker cover was a short piece of harness and u couldnt clean it out in any way possible. should i bother or not? sprayed wd40 on plug and dried out but worried didnt clean out the internals for the remainder of the harness. how do i clean it. thx

I used BrakeKleen as it disolves the oil and drys without mosture. Also remove the white pin guide plate on the ECM plug end of the harness and clean throughly. This is all I did and it has been fine for 10,000 k;s so far.

    Oil in Harness

Gday' Do you know if when the new injector harness was fitted. Was any type of sealant used to try to slow it down or stop it completely. I had mine done and the mechanic Rick from Ricks 4wd in Qld took the cap of the back of the plug on the injector harness and filled the void with a Loctite urethane sealant blue in colour. He states that the has done heaps of them and no one seems to come back and bug him again. mine was done back in June while holidaying up there.I will check shortly and see if it has come back lets hope not. What i stupid setup eh.
