If you are going to be on soft/loose dirt or sand all weekend then leave it engaged, if its hard dirt then disengage.

its all sand, so you reckon id get away with locking it on the barge and leaving it locked for a few days, dont are about the abs or that going off, will the windup be too bad?

no wind up on soft sand,,,

the barge is tricky,, how many hard lock to lock turns will you be doing? if its a straight drive on and off no problems,,
Plenty of d2's run fraser without cdl and have no problems,, finding a place on sand to crawl under may be your biggest concern
just remember to undo it on the barge on the way home!!

another issue with leaving it in is that when you re-start the car abs and traction control will be disengaged (& the 3 amigoes will appear - the third being the little used hdc - does anyone use this??).

traction control does have its benefits and some would say that on sand tc makes more sense than a locked centre diff.
