    Rock hopper gears

    Hi all

My 2000TD5 auto, CDL fitted, lifted 50mm with ironman foam shocks and springs and fitted with 245x75x16 Pirelli aT's needs a bit of help with low range gearing. I live in Newman WA and the countryside around here can be quite steep with a loose rocky surfaces. I am looking at fitting a set of Muddies which I know will help but I need lower gearing.
My question is does anyone know if you can buy a replacement set of gears for the transfer case such as offered by Rock Hopper for other vehicles.

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure M.R. Automotive do them now.

    Rock Hopper gears

Reply from M R Autos which I will follow up.

    We can offer a 30% or a 49% reduction.(ie 30 or 49 % lower than your existing low range)
    Only low range is affected.
We can do this two ways.
You send us you transfer case & we suitably modify it.(or give us the vehicle.)
You (or someonelse ) dismantle the transfer case & send us the intermediate gear for modification.
If those options are not suitable we can supply a new gear set & you can fit but this requires us to supply a new intermediate gear,
    Prices are as follows.

    30 % $1700 (modify your intermediate gear)
    49% $1900 (modify your gear)
plus approx $480 for us to supply a new intermediate gear
For us to remove the transfer case from the car & fit rockcrawler gears 30% approx $2800 , 49% $3000 .
This would also include modifying the transfer case to overcome the intermediate shaft oil leak that they all develop.
