Thread: 16x7 or 16x8 alloys?

Yeah thats what I use, one of the 12v jobbies. Had mine for around 3-4 years now and its still working well. It gets a flogging...lol

Wouldnt mind a rattle gun though...might have to wait until I get my own shed... :-(

get steel rims ya gimp dont waste your money on more alloys, its just for getting dirty, especially if your only going to put the mud tyres on when your actually offroading.. hardly worth the extra money.. plus it would suit the mud more.

BTW we are friends hence why i called him a "gimp" so please dont report me for being too harsh on the old boy.

You can pick up alloys for the same price as steels, if you know where to look. Plus D2 and P38 alloys look great, except the 3 spoke ones, not a fan of those.

oh righto :P sorry then cous, you should get some nice 18s for your road tyres and put your muddies on your current alloys

Its pretty hard to get factory steelies and they are more expensive than the alloys - actually the alloys are pretty good. They also have a really good bead retaining lip on the rim - you may get a leaky bead, but you'd be pretty unlucky to actually break the bead. The aftermarket steelies have more offset and the 8" ones will more than likely need some guard work to make them not rub/cut. They also dont have the same bead retention. OE alloys are the way to go for the D2 in my opinion for 16x8's at least.
