    Electric Windows Auto UP?

I have 2000 model Disco 2 TD5, does anybody know if the drivers power window can be programmed for 'auto up' after a momentary press of the switch, as it does for 'down'?

    Don't believe so Shaker.

I have bemoaned this on more than one occasion (after all my poor old '88 Paj had this function!).

I had wondered whether it was possible to "invert" the switch so that momentary bit was on the "going up" side but this may be too simple a solution!

After all, I'd rather be able to get the !@@##$% thing up quickly if it starts to chuck down rain etc
    Cheers

Yes, at least you can be driving away with it going up.

I remember this being a UK car manufacturers thing. Not sure of other countries though. I know all my UK cars elec windows were the same.

More of a safety issue, so you couldn't accidently, say, hit the window button while your heads hanging out the window and thus trap you by the neck. Seriously.

    Cheers,

    OMG!

Still, I guess we should be thankful we don't have all the chimes and buzzers that so many of the US cars do - key in ignition, seat belt not on, wearing a loud shirt after 8pm at night...

One of the first, and arguably most rewarding "mods" I did to the Wrangler was disable the "safety" warning chimes for the seat belt and "key in ignition with door open" - the key one used to drive me absolutely spare!
    Cheers

Isn't funny how we all like / dislike diff things, I turned my key in warning on, and would like the seatbelt one on to as I have a bad habit of not wearing it and that "may" help, How ever my BCU does not want to play ball
