I rang the NSW dealer I bought the car from, and to be fair, he did accept responsibility for the repair, subject to being able to choose the repairer in SA. So the local land rover guys (who will remain nameless) took the car and ran a diagnostic and said it came up with a fault with the shuttle valve switch. They replaced the switches and re-calibrated the system (exactly how it reads on the repair details).
Ok, so only 1 problem, after picking up the car and driving it for 10 mins, the 3 amigos appeared again! MY GOD WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO! Seriously had I read this forum prior to purchase I would not have bought a DISCO 2 (sorry, no offence, but I just wanted a trouble free car, not headaches at the service bay!)
And I reckon given the dealers attitude towards the 1st repair (reluctant to say the least) he will be less than willing to spend any more on the fault!
So here is my question, it seems that even though the lights come on, there car performs fine.... So should i even worry about the light??? I read somewhere on a thread that this could cause issues with insurance in the event of a collision....
My other option is, should the dealer not accept a second claim, is send the car via truck back to NSW from SA (costs about $700) have the dealer do the repairs under the 3 months statutory warranty and then truck it back (costs about $400). But then who's to say after all that, and any repairs the dealer in NSW does, the 3 amigos will not just appear on the cars return!
Ideally, I would like to just send the car back and get my money back! I have only had the car 6 days, and the 3 amigos first appeared after 2 days! Its just ridiculous!
This is just sooooo stressful! I mean I know used cars always have maintenance and repair costs, but to have a used car come up with a fault literally immediately upon delivery is just really hard to swallow. Plus every time I call the NSW dealer I bought it from, he talks to me as if i'm in the wrong for calling him, like i made the fault appear! I should be the one yelling a swearing not HIM!
Sorry, a bit of a rant, but any guidance would really be appreciated. I literally put every dollar into this car, and i cant afford any major repair out of my own pocket...
