The old girl up at Lake Mountain yesterday . First time the kids have been at the snow. Had a ball. Glad I was in the disco later in the night when heading home as I could straddle the wombat the car in front of me made into 3 large pieces. They didn't even stop to check damage. No way the wombat survived obviously. Amazed the Camry stayed on the road and didn't seem to drop the guts out of the radiator or motor https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...2017/07/95.jpg
No mate. Hardly any snow. Just the man made stuff - kids still had a ball. This year the season has been pretty warm which isn't great for the low resorts like Lake Mountain.
Sunny day last weekend at Stockton beach

You need to be aware that the ARCC ( formerly the ARC ) can direct you to fit chains at any resort they control, in the declared season. Season opens Queens Birthday weekend. If you enter an area that has ben signed "Chains Must Be Carried Past This Point", and you are directed to fit them, and you don't have any, the fines are steep.
Of course, in that pic there is obviously no need for chains. I'm just sayin.
Carrying chains doesn't really mean much. There are no fines for stupidity. I would say that every time I went to Buller ( well, maybe not Buller. Often fitting chains wasn't ordered there) or Hotham, which was at least 20 times a season for 5 years, I would see someone carefully fit the chains he had hired for the day on to the REAR wheels of his Camry or somesuch.[bigrolf]
