Thread: Clock and Dash Light replacement

The bigger globes in the dash (5W??) can be replaced from Super Cheap or Repco etc, the globe itself pulls out of the plastic mount and can be replaced. The smaller globe behind the odometer is a single unit and has to be replcaed as a whole.

Because I'm a tight wad I picked up a 2nd hand one for the odometer from a LR wreckers for $5, but they told me that Brit Parts sell them for around $10 new.

Sorry, can't help you out with the clock or the aircon unit lights, mine are still working for now

Picked up 2 bulbs from Auto One today for $6, fitted the clock one by using the 2 credit cards top and bottom of it to get it out and have a spare for when the next one goes.
I took the A/C controller out to try and see the bulbs that are blown in it, removing was easy BUT has anyone taken it apart before to replace the bulbs as they are enclosed in the it

Found this today on how and what to do with the Airconditioner Module lights


1) Remove the stereo and cage.
2) Feel down below the stereo and there is a clip left and right. Push these in and the Climate Control ECU will pop out.
3) Remove the 3 multi-plugs from the ECU.
4) There are 2 pozi head screws on either side of the unit, unscrew these and carefully split the unit apart.
5) The LCD bulbs twist open easily, the other ones will move if you use a small flat head screwdriver to rotate them placing it in the small plastic loop on either side of the bulb.

The Following Image shows what the bulbs look like.

Settings

When touching any of the push buttons on the ATC unit, an audible indication will be emitted. This can be turned off by holding down the auto button and then pressing the off button for 3 seconds or more. This feature cannot be turned off during on board diagnostics mode. To turn back on the audible indication, repeat the above procedure.

To change the temperature reading from C to F (or vice versa), press and hold the recirculation button, then press the off button holding the switch down for 3 seconds or more until an audible beep is emitted. If the battery is disconnected and then reconnected, the temperature reading will revert to C. Turning the ignition on/off will not change the customer's set preference.

During warm-up control the air outlet mode is set to full feet mode, with warm air also being discharged through the face vents for a period of up to 7 minutes. This time period is determined by the ambient temperature and the solar load. If the customer dislikes this function, then the procedure for cancelling the air from being discharged through the face vents is: the ignition must be turned from off to on whilst pressing the off and defrost buttons simultaneously. To turn this function on the ignition must be turned off to on whilst pressing the auto and defrost buttons simultaneously.

If the recirculation button is pressed for less than 1.5 seconds, it will latch into the recirculation mode. If the recirculation button is pressed for longer than 1.5 seconds, the recirculation mode will be timed for 5 minutes. If, whilst in the defrost mode the recirculation button is pressed, then the process will be reversed, i.e. if the button is pressed for less than 1.5 seconds then recirculation will occur for a timed period of 5 minutes; if pressed longer than 1.5 seconds, the recirculation will be latched.

Note: Pressing the auto button will override all settings.

Jeez, I'm a bit scared to try to replace these lights now! and sounds like an expensive job if I pay someone....

I think I might just put up with only half of the A/C lights working for a while...

It was about $36 to replace all the bulbs and that was about a month ago, coming home from Coffs on the weekend and sure enough turned the headlights on and 1 has blown already, wifey not happy, but I will sneak out and get it on the weekend

This is something i have been meaning to ask for ages...

Are the - Power - Auto - Screen - Recirculate - buttons supposed to be illuminated?
