The air, I believe, is discharging back through one of the solenoids at the compressor, but I have not been able to confirm this.
I know that the compressor in this vehicle was recently replaced as it had been running continuously and wore out. However, I was told this problem had been fixed. It seem not.
Has anybody out there had a similar problem?
I hope it maybe a worn o-ring in a solenoid or something, but this seems unlikely if the compressor is new.

Remove the cover from the compressor 'box' and spray soapy water around to confirm the leak. Whatever it is do it soon as the compressor will be running continuously and they have stupid plastic fittings that melt when hot

They will self adjust when exiting the car---
a very short sharp metalic sound.

Trouble is that it only seems to self adjust on the left side, and it stays low on that side until started again. Would this be aproblem with the pressure regulator or something?
Also, I understand that when the compressor is replaced the solenoids are replaced too, as they are part of the same assembly, or am I wrong here?

Solenoid Valve Block is part of the Compressor Unit - correct.

Basically, when weight (passengers and/or camping gear) leave the vehicle, the suspension will naturally spring up slightly. The SLS should vent to lower the car back to normal height. If you have one side dropping too far it might be the Height Sensor on that side sticking a bit.

How low is it dropping? If its a standard set up. you should be able to get a fist between the wheel arch and top of the tyre. If not you mighht have a leaking airbag. If as you say the old compressor wore out as it was running continuously, without checking that airbag you may be heading down the same path again.

Check for leaks with soapy spray water at the top where the metal band is (photo) and at the fold in the bag.

Mine too discharges air on exiting the vehicle (kids say the car farted). I assumed it was normal and something was depressurising. Sounds reasonable that it is adjusting to the change in weight.

Ours did something similar early last year and it was the control valve next to the compresor, this is when we changed over to coils as it was cheaper but for a little less then replaceing the control valve i should have put a set of pollies inside the coils at the time.
