CDL instalation to 2002 D2 in Perth

    Hi all,

    I have a 2002 D2 without CDL (61D) TC
I have read threads and tutorials on how to instal but way too complicated for me. Does anyone know of a mechanic in Perth WA that has installed before?
A couple of Diff, Transmission shops I have talked to have said trading to a 2003/4 model is easier but beside no CDL I am happy with my Discovery...
    With kind regards,
    Aaron.

    Hi Aaron,
Give these guy's a try Discovery Automotive. Home of Discovery Special Vehicles - Land Rover Modifications They are located in WA and have a good looking CDL kit, which they can install. With your disco you will need a replacement transfer case I believe.
    Cheers Matt

i've got an 02 and you definately will have to change the t/case for a '99 model because in land rovers wisdom they deleted the external spindle from the 02 models so there is no way to fit a CDL kit to it. - i've had mine done because i blew it up (expensive exercise). i've also heard that possibly a S1 t/case fis, but not sure - check with Linn rover wreckers in kewdale.
Discovery automotive can source a kit from england as i rang them last Friday about the same thing, bad news is the price has just gone up (nearly doubled) so a fitted kit is around $1400. i was told they are trying to source a kit from elsewhere thats not so steep. all i can say is fitting a CDL to a 02 disco is not a cheap proposition, but have been told it is very worthwhile if you plan to use it regularly off-road

He must be getting sick of the calls...I rang him as well on Friday lol....I was going to go this way, but $1400 is too much. Will go the cheaper option and put the difference into other mods...
