Ooh, this is a hard question. The genuine part isn't actually made by Land Rover but an OEM from another manufacturer. Often, the aftermarket non genuine part would work just as well, but I've now had a run with lots of non genuine parts which just don't work as well as the genuine stuff.
Non genuine is good if you want to make a repair just to get the vehicle going and then sell it. If you plan on keeping the vehicle as a long termer, I suggest genuine. Try and find out if you can buy genuine at trade prices. One of the LR dealers in Melbourne gives a 15% discount for Land Rover club members.....
