What's the valving on those shocks like ? There are a few guys in the states that claim that the 5100's are too soft in their valving. Interested to know.

    Cheers

Not sure with the crush tubes, I machine them up myself. The bushes are a common part. Supercheap sell the brand and can probably get them in if the correct part isn't on the shelf.

If you don't mind how much did they cost you delivered to your door?

    Thanks in advance TIM.

US$232.40..... about A$300 That said.. messing around with the mounting may add a bit. So while originally I thought it was a good saving over the local extended shocks - it may not turn out to be fantastic yet... certainly wont cost me more though...

I think they may be too soft. I tend to think that something around 360/80 is about where the rear of a standard weight D2 should be. Mind you, everybody likes it different.

    Update:

I had a friend make up the crush tubes I needed and we fitted the shocks this weekend.

No more topping out when dropping off speedhumps etc

I think Slunnie may be right - they may be a bit softer than Ideal too. But until I put the heavier springs in I wont really know.

My understanding was that the standard length Bilsteins I previously had (F4- BE5-B995-M0) where 255/103, thats why I thought 255/70 would be ok...

I'll get the heavier springs in and see how it goes.... this might yet turn into one of those great money saving ideas that doesn't...

I'll keep it in mind Phil,

After this trip I was going to throw my airbags back in... but mine doesn't have Ace..

So I'll let you know how its all going.. worst case - I may end up buying the aussie extended Billies.
