Thanks Phil ... so you're saying that the front left hand tyre wearing thin on the outer edge can't be rectified by doing a wheel alignment (toe in/out) ??

Outer edge is close to legal, inner edge has plenty of tread left (like the other 3 tyres), and the centre has about 1/2 of the tread depth the other 3 tyres have.

I have rotated all the tyres front to back to front to stretch a bit more life out of them.

it almost sounds like your drag link is out. thats the link between the steering box and the LHS steering knuckle. but, that should also put your steering wheel out also?

toe in/out will sort this but what i was getting at was dont go to where ever and ask for a wheel alignment as they will probably charge you for checking the castor when it cant be adjusted. it should save you some money

the other cause maybe something like a bent radius arm or dead bushes, worn king pin bearings (or what ever a D2 has?) or at worst a bent diff housing.

Thanks Phil. I have a steering & front end specialist close by who's looked after all our work vehicles for ever. They are pretty good and are straight shooters.

Since it's a new vehicle to me, guess the best shot is to let them do a once over and identify any issues.

No, steering wheel is not out, and I'm aware that castor & camber angles are fixed and can't be easily adjusted.
