I have the 210 legs (no spacers as they were on the front only) as well as the 280. Was going to space the 210s but I want to undersling things like shovel/pole holders and have my solar panels on top.

Never had any noise from either. I would have thought the D2 would be more insulated from road noise too.

Mine have the square commercial bars. Not the aero looking bars in Nealo's photos.

This is the bar position that is irritatingly noisy. It was actually slightly quieter with all the junk on the roof than bare bars. Played hell with fuel economy though

At estimation I would say my front bar is about 4" back from those pics and it’s the front bar that is the problem - as you say when empty. I will add that I run road tyres which are unbelievably quiet and the under car is caked with that noise proof muk - our road noise level is amazingly low – so it would be interesting to see what tyres the people that are claiming no noise are running. Reason I ask is that bloke here at work has the identical car as me but with different tyres – we did a return run to Bundy one day in his car and his tyres are as noisy as hell, I couldn’t put up with that level of road noise in the cab would have never bought a car with that level – he wouldn’t notice roof bar turbulence noise either.

And the square (HD Trade) Rhino bar makes more noise than the areo - I've tried a set...

Good point Harlie - I'm also running highway profile tyre on mine. Very low (almost no) road noise - even quieter than the Michelins that were on it originally.

Running Michellin HT's. My 99 TD5 Disco is significantly quieter than my previous set of wheels, an '04 Forester.:eek:

Mine is a noisy V8 Disco1 with BFG KO A/Ts but still can't hear the wind noise with the windows down.

i have the rhino bars with the 280mm high legs in the areo style and have no noise at all :cool: http://www.galleries.roaringfrog.com...f+P1010034.JPG

Well,now i am totally confused as to which are the quietist:confused:,the HD or aero style rhino.

I will probably go for the 210 legs.

need them for a oztent,& thinking of a foxwing,but i hate any noise,it will drive me crazy.

Given you are in Loganholme you are welcome to fit mine and go for a drive on the freeway and see what you think.
I've got the 280 and the 210 (no spacers) that you can try. They have the HD bars as said previously.
