    Mod Chip

Hi, I have a 2004 TD5 Auto Disco, I brought the Disco second hand and was asked if I wanted a chip fitted when it went in for the 100,000 k service. I was wondering if there was a way of telling if a mod chip had already been installed.

    Thanks in advance

Does it go like a V8?
Does max torque seem to be around 1800 rpm (std) or 2600 rpm (modified)?

Thanks for the the reply Graeme, I don't know about the torque settings. It does seem to go good, did a 0 to 100 k's in about 22sc. Don't know if this is good or not. Will check with mechanic when it goes in for next service.

    Thanks
    Geoff.

    Hi Geoff,

Mines a manual but 22 secs for an auto doesn't sound like its been upgraded. I haven't timed mine, but I do 0-100 every day pointing uphill not at full throttle and half that time seems closer to the mark.

    Not upgraded!!!

How much is your Mech quoting for the upgrade?

Knock around 8-10 seconds off that depending on level of upgrade done...

    Mod Chip

    Thanks Tombie,

From memory about $800, what is involved with changing the chip. Does it mean the car will be off the road for a few days if I sent my ECU to you or do you have a change over service.
    Thanks
    Geoff

There is a way if the a work shop have an Autologic or textbook.
The right torque standed at the wheels
    204nm @ 2600rpm (apx)
    86kw @3500rpm (apx)
After the chip we use (autologic)
    380nm @ 1850rpm
    102kw @ 2800rpm
keep in mind that these are taken at the wheels.
IF you think this is good improvement a TDV6 has
Standed 420nm and a chiped improvement of 540nm
    Our chips are TD5 $900 TDV6 $1100
    Happy chipping
