'99 Disco TD5 coolant running temperatures

I noticed, in a thread by Dearrot concerning a burst hose, a reply by Offender 90 mentioned that his LR, I assume a Defender, operated at a temperature of 90 centergrade.
My Disco in normal running operates around 78 - 80 degrees. Townig a 2 tonne van it moves up to 90 - 92 Degrees.
Anybody know it this is normal or is the thermostat playing up?

    Mine's a 2004 D2a Td5.

Runs at 88-90 deg normal driving.

Apparently from what I've read in Rave or the ECU sheets I downloaded, 88 deg is considered normal.

    Coolant temperature

    Thanks gents.
I queried the temperature because the temperature of 78 - 80 degrees seemed a bit low for a diesel that was not towing. My old landies sat around 90 no matter what I was doing.
