    Warning Lights: TC, ABS & Hill Descent

    G'day Guys!

    I have just recently purchased a D2 TD5 (latest version that came out in late 02, around Sept. if I remember correctly) Its been with me for only a week and I noticed on the 3rd day that after turning on the ignition 3 warning lights popped up with the warning tone;
    TC, ABS and Hill Descent

    In no way were these 3 controls in effect and it resolved itself when I turned the engine off, waited then restarted her again. Sweet no more issues! However today that solution is not working and the lights remain on, I read a previous thread that mentioned oil could get into the 'harness' which possibly caused warning lights to stay on. Is this the same issue?

    Apologies if I am going over old ground here I feel like an apprehensive Mum with her first kid!! Could anyone point me in the right direction please, thanks in advance.

    3 Amigos

    So I have the dreaded 3 Amigos by the looks of things Strange that I didn't experience this during extensive test drives...
    Do I require someone with a nanocom to check the diagnostics? If so I live in Perth NOR but happy to travel around, let me know what your favourite brew is!!

    i recomend buying a nanocom for your self. it will pay for itself easily.
    there around the 550 mark from karcraft.

    and yes someone with a nanocom will be able to check what the fault is and clear it. but the issue will need to be repaired other wise it will most likley just come back

    cheers phil

    Will do cheers for the advice Phil, would still like to run it through if anybody has one available first. I am at least a few weeks away from buying one as the 'handbrake' has blew a fuse at my recent boy toy purchases.
    Apparently clothes, handbags, makeup, girls lunches are necessities of life and I should curb my 'wants' Will stop ranting now I am probably preaching to the converted....

    A number of things can set them off as you may have read. Try finding a steep hill and use the hill dissent. This will run the pump and may fix things.
    Don't worry too much, I find every thing on mine still works despite the warning lights being on.

    A good thing about the later D2s is that when the fault is fixed, the error doesn't have to be cleared by Testbook/Nanocom etc to turn the lights off. I don't know when LR made the change but my D2a has always cleared itself of faults that were permanent faults of earlier vehicles.

    Hi guys,
    I am currently looking to purchase an 02 td5 auto. Apparantly the current owner tells me that he also experiences the ABS, Hill Descent and another warning light coming on on a frequent basis. He has been told that this is a common problem with these cars. Does anyone know the cause and fix? Also, do these engines require the timing chain to be replaced? Thanks in anticipation!
