    Brake fuse blowing

    Gday All
I had this pop up yesterday on the way to work. When the brakes are applied the CDL light comes on. It keeps blowing the brakes and reversing lights fuse.

I did a search of the forum before posting and I checked the globes, I pulled the trailer plug off and had a look, read the forums a bit more , pulled the trailer plug off again as they seem to suggest it could be there.

Alas no luck even with the trailer plug disconnected the fuse kept blowing. I rattled around wire looms in the bay, underneath, behind the fuse box and again no luck.

Anything else i missed before I drive it up the road to get it looked at.

btw it seems coincidental but the passengers door lock wont now superlock and i get the beep when I try to lock the door. All the others shut except this one.

    many thanks
    mat

When you say the trailer plug was disconnected, what did you disconnect?

    removed plug from car
unscrewed all the wires from the plug
isolated all the ends eg made defacto plug
    it still happened
I cleaned the plug made sure there was no chance of any metal contact to short anything
    screwed wiresback in again
    attached back to car
    it still happened

did i do something wrong? first to admit im on shaky ground here, happy for helping hand

    Keep hunting Mat
    Trailer plug sounds OK
Check the loom from the plug to the original harness on car.(rubbing on body of car?)
Also check wiring at back door to high mount stop light, might be grabing when door shut (Hatch back did this to me once).
Failing that try removing and unpluging the tail light assemblies to isolate them.

    Cheers Kyle.
