My '99 TD5 auto occasionally show the "S" and the "M" warning lights flashing in unison. Handbook says contact service dept.Last time they just cleared fault codes. No explanation as to what causes the problem.
I have found that after a few on-offs with the ignition key it rights itself and doesn't happen again for months.
Any assistance from members will be appreciated.
Thanks
Disco.

Hi DD
Grumpyb's links will give you most of the info you need, in summary:
1) dying battery
2) earthing points
3) inhibitor switch (or 'gear position' switch) is stuffed
4) inhibitor switch has been drowned by the air cond drain = see above
Hope it's either 1) or 2) - cheaper and easier!
Cheers
Mike
