I use flashlube, seems to have worked, I used it for 5 or 6 tanks in a row, then cut it down to about once every 10 tanks.

My fuel economy has improved since beginnig the use of it, so it does seem to work.

I'm using the Chemtech stuff ... I think there's been a small improvement, but our driving styles vary so much it's hard to get a firm grip on how much improvement there's really been .... 20mpg out of this tank, 29mpg out of the next tank, 23mpg on the next, etc, etc ...

For me, it's really more about keeping the fuel system clean than trying to improve the economy. I dose it up every 2nd tank or so.

I use Flashlube in the diesel....not with every single fill up but more often than not....more as a general cleaning agent and if it's helping the economy, which I think it is, then that's a bonus.

Doesn't look like to many people even think about using a fuel additive.

I tested the use of the Nulon additive on a 23,000km trip with a 300Tdi Disco and using Caltex diesel all the time. Consumption would drop off after about 7,000km - another hit of additive and consumption improved every time.
Since then I use it about every 2nd or 3rd tank - I figure it's better to keep everything OK instead of waiting for it to 'gunk' up before dosing.

Well, looks like I might give it a try. Would have liked a few more pollsters, but a least no one said that it stuffed there injectors. Plus no one stated way you shouldn't use it.

I've been told by my mechanic to use the ChemTech stuff every 3-4 tanks.

Supossed to not only keep everything clean but also kills a bacteria than can grow inside the engine. Not sure how anything could survive inside a diesel engine?

    Cheers

    Hi,
I have been using Moreys, I first started using it in a old Coaster Bus I did up and it seemed to get rid of a bit of smoke etc so when I bought the Disco I figured I might as well keep using it.
    Cant hurt.

Morey Oil lubricant product details - MOREYS DIESEL SMOKE KILLER

Only trouble is that it could be a NZ product

Doesnt matter we usually claim anything good is australian anyway

    cheers
