Maybe you need to take your problem to the owner of the product rather than give him a cheap blast,,:mad:

I have found the Hawkeye to be excellent as well, it works on both the V8 and TD5 alike without issue, which the nanocom won't.
Plus you can add software upgrades for nearly every other Rover other then a D4 I believe.

As far as I know many small LR workshops use Hawkeye's so they must be pretty good.
Interesting that Nanocom have updated it for V8's as well, when I first had issues with the Amigo's couple of years back Baz tried to clear the faults on my D2 with his Nanocom and all it did was wipe all the radio codes. So it wasn't just the V8 ECU it wouldn't talk to.
Does the Nanocom also work on D3's, P38's, later model Fenders like the Hawkeye can?

The Nanocom will definitely work on the V8 D2's. I've spent the last couple of hours with another forum member trying to get to the bottom of missing dash lights. I was able to access the Autobox, SLABS and BCU ECU's without any issues.
At the moment the Nanocom's support Defender TD5 and Puma, plus Disco 2 TD5 and V8. BBS Guy has announced that they are working on full P38 support which should be in the next EVO firmware update.
Put things in context when you had your Amigo's checked in Dec 2009 the Hawkeye supported the V8 Motronic ECU on D2's. Nothing else was supported.
Since that time the Hawkeye has developed in leaps and bounds in terms of vehicle support.
Over the same period Nanocom released the Evo and owner/developer Mattias seemed to implode under the load of producing, developing and supporting the Nanocom. Basically nothing happened for the whole of 2010 leaving many people wondering whether Nanocom had shut up shop. At the start of 2011 Black Box Solutions announced that they had taken over Nanocom and set about repackaging the Evo so it could be produced more efficiently.
The end result has been that Nanocom development effectively came to a halt for 18 months while all the above was sorted out. It seems now that development of the Nanocom is back on track and in the past few month there have been 3 firmware updates that have seem significant improvement sot stability and brought full coverage to the supported vehicles.
I think we can expect to see support for additional vehicles to be added fairly rapidly over the next 12 months.

If you saw that info it would make you cringe that you ever made such a statement!
I still have some of their hardware including a complete new unused system for which I paid over $1000 wholesale - it is still sitting here in my office unused. When I was setting up a new diagnostic system for my L322, I wanted to see what BBS would offer me. They offered me their new hardware at full retail price and a trade in of $50 for the old unused system that I had - that's a good indication of what their equipment is really worth -peanuts!
Therefore there is no way that I would ever consider purchasing BBS products again - 'once bitten twice shy'.
No way, based on a sad history of pathetic reliability (system after system sent from Cyprus and not even functioning at all on receipt here in Australia), lack of any customer service ethos (missing hardware components from parcels and a lack of responsability for poor products) and plain lack of business like dealings (no compensation for stuff up after stuff up from their end).
BBS would have featured on every evening current affair program on TV with action under the Trade Practices Act if they traded in Australia.
Have you ever wondered why they really operate out of Cyprus. They state that it is to avoid VAT in Great Britain etc but it is really to hide behind Cyprus' non existent consumer protection legislation.

Every use has accomplished the task in seconds with no headaches.
It just cannot be compared with BBS products as regards price, simplicity and ease of use.
Even if BBS reduced their price down to HawkEye I wouldn't consider buying BBS due to the ease of connection and communication stability of HawkEye.

Given the fact that their product line has been revised and upgraded substantially since 2007 I wonder how much stock can really be put in your views on the quality of the BBS software?
