The plastic plug can still break, ours did on a bitumen road - no rocks!
on of the first thinges we did when getting back to town was to look at a 110 Puma and there is a guard there, have just learnt that the TD5 defer has one and so will investigate that.
the Disco fund is a bit short at the moment how ever, maybe in a few months
an idea that I had to protect it was to use and old bit of innter tube of similar size and put that around it with some zip ties.
I like the stubby holder idea as well, will probably do that in the short term
that plasitc plug is around $14 and a new filter $115 :eek:
Repco had a sale on the weekend, I got a Ryco for $86 or there abouts, the normal price is $113

just got one off adrian at toorak tractor $20,less than 20 mins to fit it. just have to drill out mounting holes in back plate.fits a treat.thanks for the info
ditto--not mine either, plug still there. Seems some D2as have em, some don't.

Same here .... loom's been tucked up above the chassis rail. Plastic connector plug is still in the bottom of the fuel filter, it's just not connected to anything.
