Filter leaking again!
I was checking oil ,water etc yesterday & noticed oil leaking from filter near turbo.
I only had vehicle serviced by dealer recently at 180K & they obviously didn't tighten it correctly or it has worked loose. This is not the first time I have noticed this. The location of filter next to turbo & with no heat shield must subject filter to extreme temp cycles.
I have tried all commonly available wrenches without success, but had varying success with a old belt. There is a turbo pipe (oil?) passing close to bottom of filter & it is so close to block that you can't pass metal band from wrench behind it. Has anyone found a suitable tool to retighten this filter?
Cheers..B

Just make sure its not the gasket that is behind the filter its the one that holds the housing to the block..
If you lie under the car and look up behind the housing that holds the filter, its hard to see but its possible..
I bought the tool that is in the previous thread, works great,
