    Ok then...

Ok folks enough banter. We are talking the very serious subject of scandanavian film...err furniture.

Will somebody please, please duck outside and measure the distance between the closed rear door and the folded back seats? That's all I need really

Why not just buy a roof rack???

I recall the height limit for the boat is ~2.3m before you have to start paying extra. Should give you plenty of room for furniture.

    (sorry I don't have a D2 so can't measure)

I fitted a cabinet in the back that is 180cm high x 93cmwide x 35 cm deep. It was resting the front headrests, but it fitted with back door closed(and its a 7 seater). You could fit more above and below because it was resting at an angle.
A lot of the Ikea stuff is sold as flat pack anyway.
You could try one way trailer hire.

Would anyone be kind enough to check this for me? or will I have to accost an innocent discovery owner in a carpark with supercheap tape-measure. The blood is on your hands....

Right you are Captain. My best regards to all who replied and they may find a patch of ground upon which to camp and enjoy wine and banter beside the river should they find themselves this side of the straight.

    You people are so demanding...

All I do is ask an innocent question that requires some obliging soul to go outta their way to resvole and now you want something of me???!!!

    Ok then.

Here she is sitting in the yard right now. Ill get some shots of her loaded with scandanavain boxes lined up for the boat. Looks like some thule roof racks (cross bars) will be on the shopping list in Melbourne also that day!

    Consider yourself lucky, Stu.

It took less than 20 replies to get the answer you needed.

Nice car. All the best for the trip, and good luck with your expedition on Ikea.
