I guess because usually D2's don't look like big dickhead patrol's and cruisers that are driven by ******* who do stupid **** in them!

I have taken off the 18" alloys and fitted 16" genuine steels to my D2 and it's a great improvement I think. It seems to handle better and be more comfortable (on and off road)

I run 235/70 R16's on mine, as fitted as standard for 16" rims.

A friend of mine fitted 15" BMW 5 series steel rims to his DiscoII TD5. He widened it to 8J and fitted 31x10.5x15 Cooper MT'S. The rims clear the calipers and backing blates without any cutting. He did a 20mm body lift. Suspension is still standard at this point. Will post more photos later.

A pity this thread has not come up with a definitive bolt-on replacement 15" wheel for late D2s. They don't look as elegant as the 18 inchers, but it occurred to me that the 15" wheels (9R15 Desert Duellers on Peco Star wheels) on my old RRC might significantly contribute to the smooth ride that I am chasing for my 2003 D2. Another set of Pecos would be good - they're built like a brick 'loo. I once hit a gutter in the RR (ice on the road) and comprehensively demolished a rim, and the centre spider didn't bend whatsoever.

Got 17" king rims on mine with allterrain's. Cost me $650 all up 4 new rims and hardly used allterrain's from my local Bridgestone select mate.
