What is a limp home mode? if certain sensors are not reporting the engine will use default values.
The offending sensor should show up in the faults log on the Nanocom/
Or are you talking about an Auto??
How do I cancel the Limp Mode on my TD5? Cant get my Nanocom to do it. Any suggestions very apprciated. Thanks,![]()

Engine idles, but no response to throttle. ????
Hello,
Could be a simple MAF shorted out or crank sensor or TPS , mine did the same and was the crank sensor but I had a Fault Code, you should have some fault codes in either gearbox faults or in engine faults until you have this, It could be anything

Suspect Potentiometer I would of thought
Use the Nanocom and find out what throttle tracks are doing and if it has any driver demand errors
"limp mode" is triggered by an auto-trans fault and doesn't effect throttle behaviour.
You'll also see blinking M&S on the instrument panel. In the mechanical limp home mode, gear engagement is controlled by the manual valve. The gearbox is fixed in 4th
gear if the fault occurs while the vehicle is moving, or 3rd gear if the fault occurs while the vehicle is stationary. 3rd
gear is also engaged if a vehicle is brought to a stop and the selector lever is moved out of, and back into, D. Neutral
and reverse gear are also available.
If throttle is not responding it is something other than "limp mode" - "going nowhere mode" perhaps? It's likely to be a fault with the TPS as has been suggested.
